(1) Mix together thoroughly
- ½ C Brown Sugar
- 1 C White Sugar
- ⅔ C Shortening
- 1 C Buttermilk
- 2 Eggs
(2) Sift dry ingredients together and add
- 2 C Flour
- ½ tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Soda
- ½ - 1 tsp Cinnamon
Place in 9x13 inch pan. greased?
Top With
- ½ C Sugar
- ½ tsp Cinnamon
- ½ tsp Nutmeg
- ½ C Chopped nuts
Bake at 350 deg for 20-30 minutes.
Bake 2 ea 8x8 pans bake shorter time.
May be mixed the night before complete w/ topping covered and kept in refrig for baking in the morning.
No Buttermilk? 1T Lemon Juice or White Vinegar to 1 cup milk
